The Villach bus service - New Frequencies & new Routes
In July 2022, for the first time in the history of our city, a new bus service was introduced. It ensures a half-hourly service during rush hours. With the support of the State of Carinthia and in cooperation with Dr Richard, the City of Villach was able to make numerous further improvements and adjustments. On this page you will find all information about the Villach bus service.
More connections, more flexibility, more possibilities. The micro-BUS:SI goes everywhere.
The micro-BUS:SI is a flexible addition to the exsting Villach city bus service, the BUS:SI. The micro-BUS:SI is a classic "MIKRO ÖV" service – on the one hand, it operates as an on-demand service to districts that previously had no connection to the public bus network (such as Serai or Gritschach), and on the other hand, it runs on new routes and strengthens existing bus lines.
The micro-BUS:SI is a small vehicle that can accomodate up to eight passengers, and it can be converted to provide a wheelchair-accessible space. For all detailed information about the mikro-BUS:SI vehicle, please call the hotline at 04242 / 205 05 05 or visit the BUS:SI information point at Hans-Gasser-Platz in person. Attention: timetable changes
Every year in December, the schedules of public transport are adjusted. New routes and new timetables have been in effect since December 15th 2024. And the operating hours will be significantly extended in the morning and evening. Now the Villach lines run three hours longer from Monday to Friday, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. The innovations affect city traffic, suburban traffic and the micro-BUS:SI lines.
In addition, buses on line 5A (with the core area of St. Martin and Untere Fellach) will run every half hour in the future. As of the timetable change, lines 5A and 5B will also have Sunday and public holiday services for the first time. With the new micro-BUS:SI line M2, Maria-Gailer-Straße and the districts of Maria Gail and Tschinowitsch will now be served daily. There will also be minor adjustments to the timetable: among other things, with better transfer times at the Seebach train stop (line 8), changed early trips on line 5A/5B and four additional courses on line 1, which lead directly from the “Manhattan” district to the city center.
