The Villach bus service - New Frequencies & new Routes
In July 2022, for the first time in the history of our city, a new bus service was introduced. It ensures a half-hourly service during rush hours. With the support of the State of Carinthia and in cooperation with Dr Richard, the City of Villach was able to make numerous further improvements and adjustments. On this page you will find all information about the Villach bus service.

The micro-BUS:SI is a flexible addition to the exsting Villach city bus service, the BUS:SI. The micro-BUS:SI is a classic "MIKRO ÖV" service – on the one hand, it operates as an on-demand service to districts that previously had no connection to the public bus network (such as Serai or Gritschach), and on the other hand, it runs on new routes and strengthens existing bus lines.
The micro-BUS:SI is a small vehicle that can accomodate up to eight passengers, and it can be converted to provide a wheelchair-accessible space. For all detailed information about the mikro-BUS:SI vehicle, please call the hotline at

Attention: timetable changes
Every year in December, the schedules of public transport are adjusted. This was also the case with Villacher BUS:SI. New routes and new timetables have been in effect since December 10th 2023. This time there were a few other changes as a result of the timetable change: On the one hand, some stop names in Villach were adjusted, and on the other hand, there was also a change in the allocation of bus platforms at the bus station. Instead of 1 to 18, the bus platforms at the East bus station are now called A to C, and at the West bus station D to F.

As part of the timetable change on December 10, 2023, 34 stop names in Villach will change. The stop names are mostly adapted to the respective street names. Of course, the stops themselves remain unchanged - only the name is different.

New assignment of the bus platforms at the bus station
As of December 10, 2023, there will also be a change to the bus platforms at the bus station as part of the timetable change. The previous bus platform numbers (1 to 18) now become bus platforms A,B,C at the East bus station and D, E, F at the West bus station. In the future, the Villach BUS:SI lines will depart from the East bus station on platforms A,B,C. This makes driving BUS:SI even easier and clearer.

Senior ticket: from the age of 65, ÖBB Senior Advantage Card or a free senior ID card for Villach's BUS:SI lines: When applying at the BUS:SI office at Hans-Gasser-Platz or at the bus company Dr. Richard at Seebacher Allee 16, valid photo ID and a portrait photo are required.
Economy ticket: children from 6 to 15 years; handicapped people
Family ticket: parents + up to 5 own children
Maximum 2 children up to the age of 6 (until the 6th birthday) travel for free if accompanied by an adult. The VORTEILSCARD Family or the ÖSTERREICHCARD Family from ÖBB are valid as authorization cards.
